Ventillilation Air Conditioning Solutions

Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery Systems

A Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) system is an energy recovery ventilation system that uses an air-to-air heat recovery unit to recover wasted heat. We design ventilation systems for domestic and commercial clients that deliver a constant fresh air supply to a building whilst simultaneously extracting stale air using the most energy efficient heat recovery technology for producing savings to heating bills.

Types of Systems Benefits Case Studies

How MVHR Works

Heat Recovery Ventilation systems provide filtered fresh air whilst recovering heat energy from the extracted air from the building.

Heat Recovery

Heat recovery units can recover up to 95% of normally lost heat depending on the unit and the application.

Heat Exchanger

Stale air is recovered via a heat exchanger inside the heat recovery unit. The heat from this air is filtered and reused to heat the fresh air supply from outside the building.

Energy Efficiency

The system can either work independently or in conjunction with a conventional heating system to provide energy savings and reduced heating expenditure..

Types Of Ventilation

Continuous Operation

Unlike conventional systems the Heat Recovery Unit runs continuously and can be boosted when higher rates of ventilation are required, such as when there is increased moisture in the air.

By-pass functionality

During warmer months the by-pass function allows ventilation to continue with the heat recovery by-passed to save energy and increase comfort levels.

Cooling

Particularly in domestic projects, MVHR systems can be enhanced with cooling units that monitor intake and internal air temperatures to cool air to a user-defined room temperature.

The Benefits of MVHR

There are a multitude of benefits to MVHR in both commercial and domestic properties, not least the creation of better ventilated buildings that creates a healthier work or business environment.

Types
Energy Efficiency
Can reduce fuel costs by up to 15% a year by recovering the heat from the exhaust air which is then used to pre-warm the clean fresh air intake supply.
Components
Condensation Control
Control moisture and condensation without the need for trickle vents or extractor fans, improving overall air quality and reducing allergens.
Smart Features
Future Proofing
Recent changes to building regulations mean that new build homes and commercial properties need to comply with Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES).
